Who’s who in the data industry? This weeks interview is with Brian R.Bondy of VisionWorks.

The “Securing data in motion” conference covers a wide range of data protection specific areas ranging from the key principles of protecting data to creating a data protection program. The next events are in September so excuse the short notice. There are however two events in September and one in December.

Google have for some time been employing FireFox engineers. Indeed they have registered domain names which to many indicated
either Internet browser development or at the very least protection of potential Google browser names.
Now the cat is out of the bag. Google is launching an Internet browser. This obvious path for Google has taken many by

After the release of IE7 Microsoft claimed that Internet explorer updates would be more frequent and hinted that these updates could be as frequent as every six to nine months. It is not far off two years since IE7 was released in beta format and the beta of IE8 has just become available.
I downloaded it today. Much too early to form an opinion let alone report any findings but that I will do as soon as is practical.
Please know this;
Beta downloads are exactly that. You should not download them on mission critical systems regardless of the source.

Data loss
is something you may read about frequently. You may have had your own details breached or likely know someone who was affected. It is far less likely that you know someone you was compensated due to data loss. When was the last time you heard of data loss compensation? It is quite possible that data about you has been lost and you were not informed. It is much less likely that you will ever be compensated for any data loss incident.
