Our web hosting is with Blacknight solutions.

It’s not something we think about very often as it just works. I received an email from Internetseer recently stating our site up-time statistics for a specific week (end of November, start of December) and the results are impressive.

Tues 25/11 : Outages 0 : Error 0 : Uptime 100% : Connect time 0.12
Wed 26/11 : Outages 0 : Error 0 : Uptime 100% : Connect time 0.12
Thur 27/11 : Outages 0 : Error 0 : Uptime 100% : Connect time 0.11
Fri 28/11 : Outages 0 : Error 0 : Uptime 100% : Connect time 0.12
Sat 29/11 : Outages 0 : Error 0 : Uptime 100% : Connect time 0.11
Sun 30/11 : Outages 0 : Error 0 : Uptime 100% : Connect time 0.11
Mon 1/12 : Outages 0 : Error 0 : Uptime 100% : Connect time 0.11

Index for above data:

Outages- number of times we were unable to access this URL
Time on Error- the total time this URL was not available (hr:min)
% Up-time- the percentage this URL was available for the day
Connect Time- the average time in seconds to connect to this URL

I know this is how it should be but a cursory Google search shows that this isn’t the case for everyone. If you want reliable hosting (that’s putting it mildly based on on the above info) then contact Blacknight and they will assist. I was weary of publishing this post as God forbid should I have a complaint in the future I could appear somewhat neurotic given such praise as this. However, you can’t argue with figures and the above stats are about as impressive as they could be.

I don’t know what type of connectivity Blacknight use. All I can say is our site is very responsive regardless of the broadband used to browse. Our I.T. costs in the area of hosting are not excessive. From looking at web forums and Irish blogs it would appear that not every host delivers this type of service. Just thought you should know.
